The skill connects to the PageSpeed Insights API to pull CWV data — it’s free, and the skill walks you through the connection step by step. Once connected, the readings are identical to what you’d see at pagespeed.web.dev (lab-based measurements, the same source Google uses). You can also customise how the API is used to suit your workflow.
Will it work on password-protected or staging sites?
It crawls publicly accessible pages only — the same pages Googlebot sees. For staging sites behind HTTP auth, you’d need to whitelist your IP or temporarily open access. The skill flags any 403 or 401 responses so you know exactly which pages were skipped.
How often should I run an audit?
After every major content push or site update, and monthly as a routine health check. Technical issues most commonly appear after theme updates, plugin installs, or CMS migrations — catching them within days rather than months protects real ranking equity.
Does it audit JavaScript-rendered content?
