Description
The problem with asking Claude to review your content
You get feedback. You don’t get a verdict.
And you still don’t know if it will rank.
Claude out of the box has no review framework. It reads your article and tells you it’s good — or lists vague suggestions that don’t tell you which ones actually matter, what score the content deserves, or whether it’s ready to publish. There’s no keyword density check, no SERP competitor benchmark, no structured scoring against the four pillars that actually determine whether content ranks and converts. You leave the conversation less certain than when you started.
No scoring framework — feedback is subjective with no consistent standard across articles or writers
No SERP benchmark — Claude doesn’t check what the top 3–5 competitors are covering before telling you what’s missing
No publish verdict — you get a list of suggestions but no clear answer on whether the article passes, needs revision, or should be rejected
The fix
Content Review gives Claude a 7-step, four-pillar review system — scored out of 100, benchmarked against live SERP competitors, with a clear pass, revise, or reject verdict every time
Structured intake, live competitor benchmarking, keyword density calculation, search intent analysis, structure and readability audit, factual accuracy check, priority fix list, and a downloadable Word report — all built into a single skill.
Vague feedback with no score — you don’t know if the article is 60% or 90% of the way there
Four-pillar scorecard out of 100 — SEO, search intent, structure, and factual accuracy each scored /25 with a justified rating
No SERP check — Claude doesn’t know what competitors are covering before deciding what’s missing from your article
Live competitor benchmarking before writing a single word of review — top 3–5 organic results analysed for word count, headings, topics, and structured elements
No keyword density check — you have no idea if the primary keyword is under or over-used relative to the target range
Keyword density calculated precisely — flags if below 0.4% (underoptimised) or above 2% (stuffing risk), checks placement in H1, first 100 words, H2s, meta title, and meta description
No publish verdict — you’re left deciding on your own whether the article is ready, needs work, or should be sent back
Clear verdict every time — Pass (80–100), Revise (60–79), or Reject (below 60), with the top 3 priority fixes listed before the detailed review
Different review quality every time — no consistent standard between articles, writers, or reviewers
Identical workflow every review — same questions, same pillar order, same scoring philosophy, same report format regardless of article or writer
No deliverable — feedback exists only in the chat, with nothing to send back to the writer or keep on file
Downloadable .docx report generated automatically — professionally formatted with cover block, scorecard, verdict banner, pillar sections, and fix instructions, ready to send to the writer

Four-Pillar Scoring System
SEO & keyword optimisation, search intent alignment, content structure & readability, and factual accuracy & sourcing — each scored out of 25, with specific findings and actionable fix instructions per pillar.
Live SERP Competitor Benchmark
Before reviewing, searches the primary keyword and analyses the top 3–5 organic results — word count, H2/H3 structure, topic coverage, and structured elements — then benchmarks your article against what’s actually ranking.
Keyword Density Calculator
Calculates exact keyword density against the 0.5%–1.5% target range. Checks primary keyword placement in H1, first 100 words, H2s, meta title, and meta description. Flags underoptimisation and stuffing risk.
Edited Content Diff Review
For revised articles: compares the new version against the original, identifies what was added, removed, or changed, confirms improvements, flags outstanding issues, and catches regressions the edit introduced.
Downloadable .docx Report
Every review generates a professionally formatted Word document — cover block, SERP benchmark table, scorecard, verdict banner, top priority fixes, and full pillar-by-pillar breakdown. Ready to send to the writer or keep on file.
Install Instructions
Step-by-step setup guide included in the download. Works with Claude.ai Pro, Claude Code, and the Claude API. No extra tools or subscriptions required.
How it works
Seven steps from article upload to publish verdict
1
Structured intake — keyword, audience, funnel stage, website URL
Six questions in fixed order before any analysis begins
The skill collects everything it needs before touching the article: the .docx upload, primary keyword, secondary keywords, website URL, whether it’s a new or edited piece, target audience, and funnel stage. Questions appear in the same fixed order every time. No assumptions — no skipping steps. If reviewing an edited article, it also collects the original version for diff comparison.
Intake questions (fixed sequence):
Q1 · Upload the article (.docx)
Q2 · Primary target keyword
Q3 · Secondary keywords (comma-separated)
Q4 · Website URL
Q5 · New article or edited version?
Q6 · Target audience + funnel stage (TOFU / MOFU / BOFU)
2
Data collection — SERP benchmark + website analysis
Runs before writing a single word of review
Searches the primary keyword and analyses the top 3–5 organic results (excluding ads, featured snippets, and YouTube). Records approximate word count, heading structure, topic coverage, and structured elements for each competitor. Also fetches the provided website URL to identify tone, internal linking opportunities, and meta tag patterns.
Competitor benchmark for: [primary keyword]
Average word count: 1,840 words
This article: 1,220 words (-620 vs avg)
Topic gaps identified: 3 missing sections
Heading patterns top rankers use: FAQ section, comparison table, step-by-step numbered lists
Structured elements common in top results: tables (4/5 competitors), FAQ (5/5), numbered steps (3/5)
3
Four-pillar review — scored /25 each, with findings and fix instructions
SEO · Search intent · Structure · Factual accuracy
Each pillar produces a score, a one-sentence verdict, a list of what’s working, a list of issues found with exact line references where possible, and numbered fix instructions that are specific enough for a writer to act on without further clarification. Scoring is calibrated — 18–20 for solid fundamentals, 22–25 for exceptional execution, below 15 only for genuinely missing core elements.
4
Verdict + priority fixes + .docx report
After all four pillars, the skill compiles the total score, applies the verdict threshold (Pass 80+, Revise 60–79, Reject below 60), lists the top 3 must-fix items, then generates a downloadable Word document containing the full report — formatted for Google Docs compatibility with cover block, scorecard table, verdict banner, and pillar sections.
+
Edited content diff review
When reviewing a revised article, the skill compares it structurally against the original — identifying what was added, removed, or changed, confirming improvements, flagging anything still outstanding from the first review, and catching regressions the edit introduced.

FAQ
Common questions
What file format does the article need to be in?
The skill is built around .docx (Word document) input. Upload the article as a .docx file when prompted. The skill reads all body text, headings, meta title, and meta description from the document before beginning the review.
How is the score calibrated — is it strict?
The scoring philosophy is explicitly balanced. Content that executes the fundamentals correctly across a pillar scores 18–20 out of 25. Scores below 15 are reserved for content genuinely missing core elements. Scores of 22–25 are for content that goes beyond the basics with strong execution. Minor issues are not stacked to drag a score down — findings are weighted by their actual SEO and reader impact.
Can I use it to review edited versions of existing articles?
Yes — during intake the skill asks whether the article is new or an edited version. If edited, it asks for the original .docx to compare against. It then runs a full diff review identifying what changed, whether improvements landed, what’s still outstanding, and whether any regressions were introduced.
Does it always generate a Word document?
Yes — every review produces a .docx report automatically. The report is formatted for Google Docs compatibility and includes the full scorecard, verdict banner, SERP benchmark table, priority fixes, and pillar-by-pillar breakdown. It’s ready to send to the writer or keep on file.
Do I need any other tools?
No external tools required. The skill runs entirely inside Claude using your existing subscription. SERP research uses Claude’s built-in web search. The .docx report is generated using Node.js, which the skill installs automatically during the report generation step.
